Owie = No night night
So last week when Cade was supposed to be napping he had a little accident. We have changed the locks on his door so he can't get out at nap time.(Yes it has resorted to that sadly)He fights naps but he is so tired and cranky when he doesn't get them. He has literally fallen asleep standing up before.(So stubborn) Anyways he was supposed to be in bed when I hear a crash and him crying. I go up to find him on the floor holding his face with blood all over his hands and mouth. I think I'm a bad mom because I was more mad than panicked at this situation- I guess I'll just chalk it up to seeing so much in nursing school. He stopped crying when I picked him up and hugged him so I knew he was ok too. I took him to the bathroom and started cleaning him up and tried to find the source of his bleeding. I thought it was from inside his mouth but I finally found a huge gash under his chin. I got him to tell me what happened and he told me he jumped off his chair and hit the blinds (which means he hit the window sill) So I told him we needed to go see the doctor to fix his owie. He immediately perked up and said "Yes I go to the doctor to fix my owie. I not take a nap." (Little punk) So he got five stitches at the doctors office. He was very brave and a good little patient through the whole process. When we got home I just let him lay on the couch and watch a movie because he'd been through a lot, and of course he fell asleep right away because he was so tired. (Like I said- so stubborn!) Later that night we had been out and were on our way home. Cade knew it was bed time before I even said anything. As I was pulling into the garage he says, "Mom I can't go to bed I have an owie, so I can't go night night". (Like I said- little punk!) It's scary and funny how his little mind works and that he made the connection of getting out of his naptime earlier. Oh we love our little Cade-ster even though he can be quite a handful.
